Local police officer injured in explosion incident in Kyiv Oblast

An explosion occurred in the city center of Brovary, Kyiv Oblast, injuring two people, including a police officer, the city’s mayor, Ihor Sapozhko, reported on Facebook on May 11.

At 8:40 p.m. EET, an explosion occurred on Nezalezhnosti Boulevard.

According to regional police, officers were responding to a call about vandalism when the suspect attempted to flee. During the pursuit, the suspect threw a hand grenade at an officer, injuring him and himself.
