Columbus Police Kill Suspected Amazon Shooter; Officer in vest shot dead

A gunman who opened fire at an Amazon warehouse in West JeffersoN was killed by Columbus police after the man shot an officer on the West Side Sunday night.

The officer was shot while wearing his bulletproof vest and was not seriously injured, police union leaders said. It was the second fatal shooting by a Columbus officer in less than 24 hours, with an officer also being shot Saturday evening in Euclid, a suburb near Cleveland.

No injuries were reported at the Amazon facility.

West Jefferson police confirmed that the suspect was an Amazon employee and that a gunshot caused damage to a building at the warehouse around 4:45 p.m
